that a revolution in our understanding of creation will necessarily cause
a revolution in our understanding of God? The discoveries of modern science
have been stunning, completely changing our notion of the universe and
providing fresh images to inform our spirituality.
This retreat, based
on Judy’s book Radical Amazement: Contemplative Lessons from
Black Holes, Supernovas, and Other Wonders of the Universe, will consider the
experience of radical amazement as it takes us into a contemplative awareness
of Life. Format includes one day or two-three days.

Radical Amazement: A Conference Retreat
This week-long retreat involves taking a contemplative look at the
discoveries of science. Black holes, morphogenic fields, holons, dark
energy and dark
matter will provide images as we reflect upon the Holy Mystery at the
heart of life. There are two conferences each day, with time for silence,
prayer,
and the opportunity for a personal conference with Judy.

Radical Amazement: Advent Retreat
The season of
Advent is traditionally a time in which we wait in darkness for
the coming of the Light. Often we think of waiting and darkness
as temporary experiences in lives filled with activity and light.
Yet the
image of the universe revealed by modern science suggests darkness
and waiting more appropriately reflect the true nature of the cosmos:
ninety-five
per cent of the universe is composed of dark matter and dark energy.
What might this discovery have to say about the personal darkness
we experience,
and how might this new vision of reality deepen our experience of
the Advent season?
